What you can expect to find at Walt Disney World
The most expansive of all the Disney resorts, there are six separate parks within the bounds of Walt Disney World.
The Magic Kingdom is your standard amusement park, with a wide assortment of rides, shops, restaurants and other attractions based on the many movies and animated films made under the Disney banner over the generations. There are six areas within its bounds: Main Street USA, Adventureland, Frontierland, Liberty Square, Fantasyland, and Tomorrowland. Each of these has attractions centred around its themes, but Americana and Disney characters are the main focus throughout the park.
Epcot focuses on the many cultures found around the world, as well as the innovations that will be found in the world of tomorrow. The World Showcase hosts 11 pavilions that extoll the various things that make each nation distinct, from its streetscapes to the restaurants they host, while Future World showcases the latest advances in science and technology, from energy to space travel.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios is a park featuring attractions based on the movie making business, with a particular focus on the many Disney films made over the years. Divided into six areas, they focus on various aspects of the Disney media empire, from Star Wars to the Muppets.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom is a conservation park that showcases many exotic animals from around the world that are being rehabilitated, thereby giving the general public a chance to learn about them. Like the Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios, this park is also divided into six areas, with two of them focused specifically on the animals of Asia and Africa.
There are also two water parks: Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach, both of which have a variety of aquatic attractions such as slides, lazy rivers, and wave pools that will give you an opportunity to cool off underneath the unforgiving Florida sun.
With 343 restaurants and four golf courses, there is plenty of other things to do when you aren’t lining up to go on Space Mountain or the Spinning Teacups.
